On a lot overlooking lake Coeur d'Alene in Harrison, Idaho, this architect designed his own dream home. Milled refined old growth piling finished in a warm burnt brown hue pulls this home into Idaho's vibrant sunsets, while nodding quietly to our countries western heritage.
The material was crafted from dense, tight-grained piling recovered from the Oregon Coast. We lightly brushed the rough face to bring out the grain and keep a subtle sawn texture without pushing the look too rustic.
Each board was then milled into a T&G V-groove profile, giving the home soft, consistent lines that pair well with its contemporary design
The siding is finished in our Western Brown color; a warm, burnt-orange brown inspired by Idaho’s sunsets. The semi-transparent color highlights the the grain, helping the home blend seamlessly with with the evening light. The result is a modern lakeside home with warmth, depth, and a touch of Western character.
