Set high overlooking the Jordanelle, this mountain-modern home stands as one of the most prominent residences in the Skyridge Community. Covered in a custom dark-black finish, the exterior pairs dramatic architectural lines with richly textured old-growth timber. This Park City home merges refined craftsmanship with bold character.
For the siding, we used a square edge rough 1x6, and brushed the rough face to raise the old growth grain of the reclaimed piling. We left the edges rough to be installed with a 1/2" gap, creating stunning natural varied lines running vertically on the home.
The soffit is all T&G Fine-Line with a smooth finish, contrasting slightly to the more natural siding.
The color started with a rendering.
Our finish experts creating a custom dark shade, with warm and cool undertones that show in the sunlight. The finish was made with enough pigmentation to cover the wood in a dark tone, while left transparent enough to showcase the random patina the reclaimed piling has developed from spending the last 200 years preserved below the salt water and sand of the Oregon Coast.

In the end; the project is a testament to how reclaimed materials, with thoughtful design and expert craftsmanship, can elevate even a modern home into a true mountain architectural landmark.
